During this time of New Year’s Resolutions it’s important to remind your clients to make resolutions that are designed to reward – not overburden – them.
Some good suggestions for New Year’s Resolutions might include:
• Learn to take one hour out of each day just for yourself
Take this time to do something just for you – read a book, enjoy a hot bath,
phone a friend.
• Get a checkup
Seeing your doctor for a regular checkup makes your health needs a priority.
• Eat a balanced diet
Lean meats, fresh fruits and veggies, and plenty of water help give you the
energy you need to make it through your busy day and make you better prepared to
handle stressful situations. Vegetarian fare can also be healthy.
• Laugh
Try to find a way to laugh or find humor every day. A good chuckle instantly
lowers your stress and anxiety levels.
• Reach out
Your family, friends, and loved ones can help you carry the weight of your
responsibility. Reach out to them and they’ll give you a hand.
• Seek out one new resource for support
A housekeeping service, delivered meals program, or dog-walker may give you just
that extra bit of free time every day or week that you’ve really been missing.
If finances are stretched, perhaps you could trade off child care or yard work
with a friend or neighbor.
